Absence. Yes, it makes our hearts grow fonder.

John Bratholm

We do miss you, John.  The spirit you presented outwardly is cherished and so many are saddened by the internal struggles you endured.  Yet, the legacy and inspiration you left as an example is only thought of with immense fondness.  You did not understand how you enriched our lives, but it lives on..thank you.
The incredible responses to every event since you left have been amazing.  Not a handful of friends. Hundreds of friends and complete strangers have been touched.
Now it is time for a personal "thank you" to my supporters who assisted in honoring your life.
It doesn't seem possible to respond to the many, many people that came forward to help in soooo many ways in the days after you were found.  The only words that come to mind are, absolutely incredible!
Every time a suicide happens it increases the awareness of just how often families face this loss and how it, actually has reached epidemic proportions.
If someone that reads this post is so struggling, the Suicide Prevention Hotline number is:  1-800-273-8255. Unfortunately,  for whatever reason, it is not called often enough.  Please do not hesitate to take that step as healing is possible.

The March Benefit held by the Eatonville Chamber of Commerce was a huge success and continues to be a big help to Tammi (your wife-my daughter).    Eatonville, Washington residents can walk the trail and enjoy a respite on the lovely bench in your honor presented by the Chamber of Commerce.  So many hands involved in putting such an event together.  The spaghetti dinner, desert auction, setting it all up including the silent auction and live auction, the musical presentations, etc. Everyone came together to make it happen.  A sincere thank you to those that came forward here in Oregon when I appealed for items to donate for that auction. Below photos of recognition to each with my personal "thank you."

Impossible to mention the tables and tables full of items donated by people from the area and beyond.  And that is that........almost.
A music event is being organized for later this summer by Tammi's sister, Denel, Win Whittaker and others to continue some support for Tammi and to establish a Scholarship in John's name for the Humanities Program at Eatonville High School.  Of course, hoping to make a trip to Washington for that!
So, now we must move forward, moment to moment.
And that means SPRING is supposed to be springing, right?  The weather seems a bit cool yet.  Daffodils are blooming, tulips are budding.  Adams Day is next Saturday with the kick off of Little League Baseball season and vendors set up in the Park.....regardless of what the weather might bring.  So come on out for the Ladies Club Breakfast serving at 7:00a.m. at the Community Center and partake of the activities thereafter.
