Onward. Long Leaf needles arrived

The needles arrived from Georgia last week, so back to that basket that was on hold.  You remember, the one with five walnuts and red, tan and black cord?  I did a few rows and began turning the side up and was looking at my design, feeling good.  All of a sudden it dawned upon me, that the odd shape I had chosen would not accommodate placement of a balanced handle!  That was the object of this project!  To learn to attach a handle!!  Sometimes.....oft times...I really annoy myself.  While waiting for the long leaf needles to arrive, I had picked up the 'basket' begun in September, for my daughter's wedding last October.  That is no longer a basket, it's not a tray, it's an arty piece.  One that might not even work at all!  But fun again.  Then, after realizing my five walnut project wasn't going to work, grabbed another unfinished project from last year and began adding rows and bringing up the sides that just might work to attach that originally planned handle lesson upon.  Just in case you were wondering......a photo of the three unfinished projects stands below!

Making baskets are always an adventure, the needles and the aura show you the way. You never really know what you end up with until the end. Have fun.
