Oatman, Arizona. A wonderful day!

What a wonderful day at Oatman, Arizona!  Lulu, (our border collie) was all tucked in, safe and sound, with our desert neighbor while we went and played.  He loves her, we know, and takes such good care of her.  Our faithful and special guides of 3 years now, took us on this adventure as they have many others.  Thanks, so very much, Pete & Penny!  Another thing I can scratch off my "bucket list" that wasn't even on it! I looked up the history of Oatman, on Route 66 after returning and found it even more fascinating!   Go ahead, look it up, and surely if you are ever near, you too, will want to go there! Now for some photos!  Hope you enjoy.

And then.......there were the burros (donkeys), for myself the highlight of the day.   Wait.  Was it?  Actually, it was the whole day.

One can almost see the "cross" on burro's  back.

Just strolling along.

Meet "Fuzzy."  The baby.

I believe, the wonderful lady at the Motorcycle Shop, said this was Mother and offspring.

Then the enactment of the gunfight!  Apparently, a community effort to support the public restrooms!  How's that for working together?

The four enactors, thank you!

Is the burro disgusted?
How fun!  Except for the real "ass"  that ran one  establishment!  He obviously hated the burro's, having been kicked and injured, likely because he was hateful to them and they remember!  He should just move!  Especially since, he failed to realize they are his "bread and butter."   Yes, they "poop" in the street.  Yes, it likely gets smelly.  But...face it, it's the main reason so many people drive so far into the desert and then enjoy the efforts made by many to sustain an almost lost little town.  The wonderful lady at the art gallery, whom loves where she lives, and tries to keep the burro's off the boardwalk because of the mess and clean up, but is not mean to them. Plus the lady at that motorcycle accessory shop, whom you could tell absolutely loves those animals.  She even could get them to sing, (bray.)  I like that, don't you?
