Have you met "Penny?"

Did I introduce you to "Ms. Penny?"  She came to live with us about three weeks ago.  Now we have a black and white dog and a white and black dog.  Lulu, our border collie probably would have preferred to be the only "apple of our eye," but she has adjusted graciously. Maybe she knew Penny needed all of us, after she lost my brother, her soul mate.  We wondered if she would be able to accept us, but due to the amount of time she spends on our laps and following our every move--I think we have passed her judgement.  Not being one to play, she and Lulu seem to have reached an agreement, Lulu's department is playing and Penny's is watching. Of course, they absolutely must share attention. Having been a little out of shape, Penny undertook a bit of dieting, and should be down to bikini size by summer, as we can now see she does have a waist line.  Her stub of a tail has wagged for us now, and we have even watched her run, yes, run in the yard.  Not too far, or too long, but it's a definite run!  I know my brother would be happy.  We are.....since for many of us, our pets become "family" it's good to have a place for them to go if we can no longer be with them.

Lulu-everyone LOVES Lulu!
There is a list of homes who
would welcome her!  Her gregarious
personality grabs attention.

Penny--is still sad here, and she is
rather shy.  She is a Terrier Mix
and supposed to weigh
18 pounds-here she is about
23-25 pounds.  She has already
begun to feel much better
about herself and about
her surroundings.
