And.....the wise Owl said

We captured this image while out, with our neighbors, enjoying an evening ride on our 4 wheelers. Interesting observation-I, myself, would have never seen him amid all the camouflage of the assorted branches.  My husband, Don, being colorblind spotted him immediately!  Why?
Because he sees "values" (the lights and darks) of images, while I see all the colors and they just blend together!!  Just a little tidbit of sharing.
My mood swings back to the image of the "wise owl" but more by way of over-thinking life!  Sometimes, what seems the very simple has just become soooooo complicated.  Makes me crazier and I just about burst with the frustration so many of us encounter going about our daily business and the redundancy we might "bump up against!"  For example.  Were you issued a birth certificate?  Most likely, right?  Did you loose it and obtain a certified replacement?  Quite possibly.  And then, although either the original you received, or the replacement you paid for, (which served you well for many endeavors, like serving in the military,  especially) suddenly is no longer acceptable!!  Noooooo, now you must reapply for a new, again, certified copy to serve the same purpose the old one accomplished for such a long time!!  Is that redundant or what??  Of course, there are the fees associated with obtaining this new, more wonderful copy and if you desire to have it anytime soon, you can even pay extra!!  (Someone, ever so intelligent, never learned the "KISS" rule.  I myself, learned it late in life, and it is so practical!! Thanks, Jeri A., for enlightening me those few years back at the Suncatcher Studio. "KISS" = Keep it SIMPLE stupid!)  I know, stay on track, it's confusing when I "go around the barn," as my Son says!  Anyway......since the rules are always changing, recently my "replacement, certified, Birth Card from the State of Michigan, (with the embossed State Seal) DID allow me to renew my Driver's License.  But noooooo........you cannot obtain a Pass-card (an alternative to a Passport) with that same certified copy!   No, siree!  And.....the photo you submit with the form, better be just right, too!  Don't try it yourself at home, against a white backdrop that might show a crack, even if you are facing forward, full view.  That crack serves as a "distraction" to the real you, when the "learned ones" are inspecting your right to have such an item!!  So, just go have one taken, and pay the price, to save the frustration of being denied at the gate!  So, another hurdle accomplished.  The forms all filled out, the just right photo, is stapled to the form, just so, and off you go, confident that all is in order this time!  HA, HA.  Jokes on you, again.  The State of Michigan, certified Birth Card, sent as a replacement to your missing, original Birth Certificate, (yes, the same one you recently used for renewing your Driver's License) is not any good!!  Oh, no!  How could you be so stupid?  You go back home, and you reapply to the State of Michigan, for a Certified copy of your Birth Certificate.  Pay the fees, then you can go back, "show those in the know," and see if MAYBE that shiny new one is acceptable.  If so, you can now, pay the fees and proceed applying for your Pass-card, which, of course, could be denied!  Oh, fees are non-refundable, by the way. The moral of this tirade, "KISS," as the wise owl above might think, has a whole new meaning!!  It really is not an abbreviation the way I choose to use it--just one word of a short phrase!  Maybe you can fill in the remainder?  Good luck, out there-it's very, very redundant, no matter what we do.  Could I please use these everyday redundancies for my unproductive, uninspired, excuses as to why my creative side is so elusive?  If this truly is happening everywhere we turn, (and it is; from Dr's offices, to appointments, to legalities, to simply arranging for transportation if your handicapped, etc) no wonder we are such a mess!  Oh, my husband, Don, applied for his Pass-card over a year ago-it's still in the process.  Poor guy, he's old enough to have been born at home (you know, when things were simple) and the official certificate issued at that time, certainly couldn't be good enough for todays standards.  It was, however, good enough for him to serve his Country in the Korean War!  When you apply, do plan well ahead, it takes a long time for technology to catch up with "KISS."
I wish you well.

Jo,loved this. Lelan and I get sooo tired of all the redundances. It almost takes the fun out of trying to make plans to go out and enjoy life.

Thanks so much for responding and for agreeing! It does "take the fun out of trying to make plans and enjoy life!" So frustrating, that it just wears us out! Hope your well.
