Just because. Just because, it is important to "give credit where credit is due," I want to share a little 'aside' with those that, also, appreciate, what appears to be, small moments. The problem being, small moments become, more and more rare!
Recently (although I am not prolific at knitting, sticking to the small stuff like, hats, slippers and dishcloths) I purchased a skein of, what appeared to be the familiar Red Heart Yarn, noting the logo and not paying close attention to anything further. A gaudy, multi-color yarn a Grandson thought his Dad would like for a stocking hat! Upon beginning, I felt frustrated as somehow, the usual soft texture and feel, familiar to me, was MISSING! It felt sticky, stiff and fake. On a whim, I decided to contact "Coats & Clark" with my complaint, assuming it would, at least, reach a "round file." Within a very short time, I had a response from a lovely person in their Consumer Service Department! SURPRISE!! She requested a sample of the yarn causing my unhappiness be sent in for evaluation. Impressed, I did so and, again, within a short time, an e-mail arrived explaining that due a previous supplier having "gone out of business," they were forced to seek a new source. She, also, nicely explained in detail that the "dying process for multi-colored yarn, was more complex. AND.....that I would receive a replacement directly from "Coats & Clark." WOW! Actual service, can you believe it? I had just wanted to vent my frustration and someone had heard! When the replacement arrived, the box held six, not one, but six skeins of lovely soft "Red Heart" yarn!
Now, don't you agree, in this day and age, that "small moment" is actually monumental? KUDO'S to Red Heart and Coats & Clark.
NOW, on the other hand, having been on a venting roll, I had returned some photo's I ordered on line from a Company called "Shutterfly," which initially had impressed me with the quality of their prints and photo books. For whatever reason, with time passing, the uploads I sent, actually seemed to be cropped further than what had been sent! Not always a problem, but having the tops of heads cropped midway left something to be desired......and for me to vent about! You know what? NOT A WORD! Just a continuation of sales pitches, trying to entice me to order more, more, more! Just thought this was worth a share....it's nice to know there still might be some Companies out there that actually listen and care about their consumers.
