Honored......a special story

Donald Records with his own personal
"Quilt of Valor"

A few weeks ago my husband, Donald (above; who will be 85 years young in September) had a call from one of his
cousins asking if she could stop by on her way to Pendleton.
Although we don't see her often, he was delighted she was going to pay a visit.  She brought a box with her which she presented to him.  Somewhat puzzled, he opened it to find the beautiful Quilt displayed in the photo.  Don, was surprised and curious.  Eddie, an avid quilter of distinction, explained that actually it was her husband, Ken's, project.  Apparently, she had presented Ken with his own special
quilt at some point.  It had touched him deeply and he decided he, himself, would make "Quilts of Valor" first for all their family members that had been service members and once that feat is complete, he intends to continue and donate quilts to the "Quilts of Valor Foundation,"  Quilt Of Valor
I believe Eddie told us this was their 7th quilt to family members that had served in various conflicts.  Donald had joined the Navy after leaving high school and served in Korea.  Eddie and Ken, you are among those too few, thoughtful, caring human beings, that think about others and are not just focused upon yourselves.  Thank you, so much, not only,  for making Donald feel special, but for stopping by for a visit.  Everyone's schedule is busy,  just
getting through the days during these times, but some just don't take even a moment.  Unfortunately, I seem to fall into that latter category all to often.  Good intentions that go unattended.  You set a good example for the rest of us to try harder to do what we can!
