Just a note

Hand-painted gourd

Refreshing blog just a bit and thought I'd show you a transformed gourd.  Transformed, you say?  Yes, as in re-painted.  One that was started sometime ago and went awry.  Not a perfect photo, as you can see, but less likely to be, too, critical then!
Then perhaps you noticed the previous post today, where I pushed buttons un-pushed before when looking at "Grandpa Owls" Blog, which personally, I found interesting.  You never know where my "monkey mind" might go!  (That is a real term.)  Hopefully, keeps someone reading my ramblings.  Why?  I really do not have a clue....to speak of......

Alrighty then, moving on:

Adams Day,  for those of you living fairly close,  mark your calendar for the eighth of April festivities and apparently, the beginning of Little League Baseball.  The day begins with breakfast, 7:00 at the Friendship Center/Church.  Vendors set up at 8:00, open at 9:00, end at 3:00.  Parade starts at 9:00.
Contact:  Mary  @  503-440-2082 for information.  Only a $5.00 set up fee.
Contact:  Miriam @ 425-748-4487 to register for parade.

Planning ahead you might, also, mark April 22nd on your calendars.  The 48th Annual (Whitman College) Renaissance Faire will be held then.  I hear it is an event well worth attending.   Perhaps we can all attend this year!  Take a sneak peek.....https://www.whitman.edu/faire/   Will do a post when that date is a bit closer, so we don't forget.

Chicken Mama, is still minding her chickensMy six girls are just the most delightful, although two girls have yet to get their name tag!  We have tagged, by gollie, Ms. Molly.  Finally, after all this time, the truth comes out!  You really do reach a point of being able to tell (some of them) apart even though they all initially look alike.  "Shy" still has the shortest tail (all her tail feathers had fallen out) "Ms. Molly," has a yellowish cast to her feathers....or maybe she fails to take her bath.  "Frieda, and Minny," are identified by their color coded leg bands, until a later time and I do have to change the pre-made name list.  Just do not have the heart to name either of the two remaining girls, "Biddy."  They all seem sooo happy, there is less picking/pecking on one another!   Their eggs are not Gold, which would have helped pay all the expenses--after all, it is not all chicks that have a THREE story penthouse built for them by their sugar Daddy!  Plus organic feed, veggie treats hand cut for easy pecking, a special powder for their bath, hand crushed egg shells (they furnish) for calcium, handfuls of fresh cut grass, homegrown herbs and lavender in their nesting boxes for relaxation.
Not that we mind,  just plain, ole eggs.  We are grateful, really, we are.  Besides, I can talk to my girls about anything, anything at all.  They sit on their  branch roost, an inch from my face (as long as, they are inside their pen and I'm out), look me straight in the eye and respond with great kindness.  What more could I want?

Alright, your right.  Enough is enough.  Until next time hoping your day is good and that the upcoming ones are equal.
