The Beat Goes On

Each day we go through the motions of everyday life, one foot in front of the other, hopefully learning more, basically, about ourselves.  Likely, that is what we are supposed to learn about, to be a better person.  How can we help or fix anyone else, if we can't help or fix ourselves?  If everyone....every single one, were a better person, would that be a solution to an imperfect world?
I've been reading quite a bit about the epidemic of mental disease of late.  Perhaps it invokes too many deep thoughts beyond my comprehension at this time.  It's important to me, to try harder.
Guess what?  There really is evidence that "old dogs CAN learn new tricks."  So keep the eyes forward, keep the mind open, and forge ahead.  Learning can be fun and it can be beneficial in so many ways.
My art/craft room has endless possibilities when I let myself out of a self imposed box!  A box of pre-conceived rules, concepts, and the ideas imposed by others.  Sure, guidelines are useful and essential.  Stepping beyond allows freedom and discovery.
Whatever, did I do when I imposed upon my children that they could not color the hair in their color books purple?  How many other ways have we and do we suffocate healthy exploration and discovery?
Go discover.  Go appreciate, wonder and experiment with who you are......and with who you want to be?  Then create.

I'd like to see some of your creations when you do let yourself out of the box.

Thanks, Carol:
Right now, they are more simplified and on the new projects page.
Think the alcohol inks will help loosen up paintings when I do get back to it. Must get back to some basket coiling now though. Was able to sell a few of them!
