At the recent Weston Potato Fest, I encountered a couple running a wonderful facility near here. They are the owners of the Winn Barn, a beautiful 1916 barn that charmed me into doing a pen & ink drawing of it a number of years ago. Of course, my intent, was to reproduce it into a note card to sell, which I had help in so doing. Well, no one ever took much notice of that card and eventually, you just want to clean house and get rid of things. Reducing the price to 50 cents each, didn't even seem to do the trick! Funny how life evolves, don't you think?
During the interim, the Winn's have completed what appears to be a loving restoration, of what already was beautiful. It is the perfect venue for country weddings, reunions, retreats, gatherings of many descriptions. At Weston they approached me about my little, forgotten notecard of which I had few left. How flattered I felt that they asked to purchase what I had and perhaps more to use as their "thank you" notes to those renting their facility. We discussed negotiating printing of more cards, which reminded me of recent thoughts running through this busy bee mind in regard to PLAGIARISM. What really is plagiarism? How can it truly be? The only real definition for me, would be taking another's total work and passing it off as your own--that simple. And.....yes, some people do that. However, in the perspective of the beginning of time, hasn't everything in reality already been said or done? Are we not plagiarising each and every day? Appreciating the fact that in loving their barn, I was able to paint my versions of it, sell them, and not be in violation, as far as I knew, why not accept the flattery and allow the Winn's to reproduce the forgotten little notecard and use it for their "thank you" to their patrons. Thank You, Mr & Mrs Winn, sincerely. Furthermore......check out the link provided here and consider this lovely setting for your next event! http://www.winnhomestead.com

We have driven by there countless times and several times when there was a wedding going on. Didn't know this was why. It's a beautiful barn and setting.
