Opps.......

Mixed media collage  9" x 12"

Imagine....nary a word for over a month!  Can I recall what has taken place.  Not really!  Therefore, perhaps most of it isn't worth mentioning.  Do realize a couple things have been neglected and wish to share.  Way back in July, we took a little drive up to Meacham, Oregon for their 4th of July celebration.  Several vendors had set up in the parking lot of the Meacham Store/Cafe.  Took this photo of wood carving exhibited by a man from Pendleton.  I misplaced his name/telephone number!  Maybe that's a reason to post promptly.  I apologize, but maybe you will run into him one day if you are in the area!
Now, back up to top of page (as my computer does it's own thing).  The collage shown is just off the easel and is listed on the website, as well.  Likely, there are a few other items since the last time I actually posted any here.  I have spent a little time in my room and will be participating in a couple shows before years end.  The intentions are good that I spend more time in that room and even produce a few more items.  If you should be in the area please do drop in on the following events for Christmas shopping of handcrafted wares.   Weston, Oregon Potato Show.  Saturday, October 28th from 9:00 - 4:00.  It is a fun, small town event with several different activities.  Next, the 2017 Holiday Market at Walla Walla, Washington Fairgrounds on December 9th.  There should be a number of vendors with great gifts from 9:00 - 5:00.  Possibly, I might sign up for a couple other shows, which shall be posted whether participating or not.                                                                                                                                                                 Have you just been sitting on the edge of your seats, waiting for me to mention poor "Daisy."  It has been a long, frustrating journey for all concerned.  She is a sweet, people girl!  She chooses us as her best friends and...protectors!  Thus over time, with us serving as her landing post in an emergency (literally)

and coming to her aid when she has called (squawked hysterically) finally things are improving.  She has gained confidence, comes out for meals (treats) and is slowly mixing with the flock!  Her bravery merits their respect and we hope, hope, hope that this story has a happy ending!                                                                                                                                                     Not only do I consider myself a happy Chicken Mama...but Mama Mama's have moments of happiness, too.  I'm happy for daughter number two, Denel Kessler.  Her highschool friend, Win Whittaker, had a band back then in which she was the vocalist.  Now all these years later, via the internet they are collaborating with their continued love of music.  Under the label, "Wet Heat" their first song was released!  If you like Rock, please take a listen on iTunes.  The title of their first release is "Acoustic Liquid Soul," and soon a couple more will be available!  I have heard the pre-release drafts of the next ones, which I really like!  It is mind boggling and baffling how the internet works.                                                                                                                 Last but not least today we took one of those Sunday drives, basically to go pick up some fresh apples with a little side trip up Weston Mountain after reading about an interesting new farm stand being established.  It was a great side trip!  Fresh pears, a loaf of organic, artisan bread, a bar of completely natural oil and herbal  shampoo, and a fresh cinnamon, huckleberry roll, plus a wonderful, meaningful conversation with one of the proprietors.   A real breath of fresh air in more ways than one.  These people love what they do....raise a garden, make herbals and soaps, jams, cider, bake bread, cookies, etc.  They hope to establish a special place and enjoy those that stop by.  It was a pleasure to meet Mr. Williams and share those few moments.

So Daisy girl is finally making head way. Looks like a nice roadside market. We really 'discovered' Edward's farm this year and discovered they are completely organic in everything, orchards included so have been making steady trips for fresh fruits and veggies.

Love the picture of the girl too.

Yes. Daisy's progress is a relief. A big relief for me, as I feared for her life! Read too much!
It is a very nice, personable little market. Loved it! Another friend of mine goes to Edward's farm and likes it, also. Have been there in the past, too, then let it slip to the back of my mind.
The vintage photo's are interesting for me to work with. My mind makes up stories about their personalities and feelings!
Hope life is relatively smooth for you both at the moment and that your absolutely looking forward to winter! HA!
